I think the ever busy modern day life is driving more and more people to look for internet based support when quitting. Another thing is that in forums people find quitting peers and not just people who are "supporting" you to quit when they themselves do not really know how it feels like to quit smoking

I think the popularity of digital quit smoking programs will intensify in the coming years partly because of these reasons.
